The Orphanage

Holy cow, this could have been one of my favorite parts of our whole trip.

This girl was 17 and had her baby less than 3 hours ago. We went shopping and bought
her a bunch of clothes and food.
I wanted to keep this baby so bad. It was a twin, I didn't have a
good picture of them together, but they were so cute.
This was at a school later on in the day.
It is literally built on top of a dump.

This is what each little food bag looked like.
They split up the food so that each kid could have one.
And these were the kids that we met at the school.
Oh, that makes me want to go back so bad.

Banaue and Batad

I know the Philippines were a while ago, but I still haven't posted any of it so...
Here is Batad. We just hiked around for a couple of days here. They grow rice on those
terraces, and they are so cool.

We made lots of friends. The kids all loved my Mom,
she gave them candy.

I want to go back right now.

 Here is some... Pizza?
And the pretty orange building? That is our super
high class hotel. Uh... it's giving me the
creeps just thinking about it.

The Philippines: First Day

Our first day in the Philippines started with these three
hollering and yelling at us. "Get out of bed!!! Let's play!"
I missed these guys sooo much!

We had a crazy workout, courtesy of my mother, and then she learned some yoga.

obviously it is not her thing...
Then we went shopping. It was crazy, especially with our
jetlag, which was nothing short of terrible.

And we ended off the day with some delicious pork adobo.
With some hidden pork hairs. mmm...

The Philippines: Plane Ride

This day was pretty much the longest day of my life!!!
The plane ride was 22 hours.
Thanks to Maddie, I had some good reads.
And then there is always some delicious airline food
to keep us entertained.  Yum. (just kidding it was disgusting!)
Here's my Mom eating some really good shrimp...
When we finally got to the Philippines, I tried to blend in
with my best asian smile.

And we were welcomed by the man-lady.

We had sooo much fun on our big excursion,
more to come later!
